Steady breakage means there is something in your daily routine or health that is consistently damaging your hair. Before treating it, track when and where the breakage occurs; be it at the ends, mid-shaft, or roots, as this would definitely points to different causes of your hair breakages.
(a) Lack of Moisture: When your hair lacks moisture, it becomes dry and dry hair becomes brittle and snaps easily. And this can be resolved by applying a deep conditioning mask (coconut oil, shea butter, or a moisturizing conditioner) for 30 minutes, then rinse. Do this weekly to stop hair dryness.
(b) Excessive Heat on Your Hair: Styling Flat irons, blow dryers, and curling wands strip hair of moisture and weaken the hair shaft. Therefore, we advise you apply a heat protectant spray before any heat styling, and lower your tool temperature to below 375°F (190°C).
(c) Chemical Damages: Use of relaxers, bleach, and frequent use of dyes and coloring break down the protein structure of the hair. This causes breakages and you need to apply a hair repair and protein building treatment to rebuild hair strength. Avoid chemical processes for at least 6–8 weeks after.
(d) Poor Nutrition & Dehydration: Deficiencies in biotin, iron, zinc, and protein show up as weak, breaking hair. Therefore, increase water intake immediately and add biotin-rich foods such as eggs, nuts, seeds or a hair supplement containing biotin, iron, and vitamins C & D to your diet.
(e) Finally, you should have a healthy hair care routine to enable you achieve a sustainable hair growth that is free from breakages, steady hairloss and fall out, in order to maintain a fuller and longer hair.
